ShareHim Information & Resources

The ShareHim Initiative in the Oregon Conference is a framework for local church evangelism that is based on four principles:

1. The Great Commission is a call to all Christians today.
2. Only when lay people have ownership of the message and mission of the Church will the Great Commission be fulfilled at its best.
3. There are many ways to carry out the Great Commission.
4. Evangelism is an on-going cycle of sowing, reaping, and retaining, not an occasional event.

The ShareHim model is built around Outreach Leadership Teams (OLTs), groups of 20 people or less from a single congregation who are committed to ongoing evangelism. The groups meet regularly (at least once a month is recommended) to pray for names, to seek God’s leading, and to strategize their evangelistic efforts. These teams develop their own interest list, run their own continuous sowing initiatives, and conduct their own reaping series (at least two series per year are recommended).

ShareHim also has some resources available. For OLT formation they have an informational sheet (Outreach Leadership Teams) or a longer OLT Handbook, as well as the agenda for the first meeting. For sowing they have a great resource, aptly titled Sowing Resource Catalog, available in printable format and also in DVD format. This catalog showcases over a hundred resources for you to choose from. And for reaping, ShareHim has a popular series, Truth for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. This resource is a full set of evangelistic sermons, already written and supplied with top-quality graphics. It can be purchased from the ShareHim

You may be interested in preaching an evangelistic series in a foreign country, too. ShareHim has sent thousands of people from economically developed nations like the United States to other parts of the world to preach evangelistic series in places like Africa and South America. As many experienced lay preachers from the Oregon Conference can tell you, it is a thrilling experience. ShareHim in the Oregon Conference

We’ve held six rallies so far (in Grants Pass, Portland, Salem, Springfield, Bend, and Coos Bay) and we had over 400 people who came and formed themselves into dozens of groups. ShareHim trainer Benny Moore presented a ShareHim Boot Camp for preachers recently, November 9 and 10. In March we held a training event for both speakers and support people in Gladstone, Oregon. We’re excited to see how people are responding to the call for a personal commitment to the Gospel Commission. Beyond that, we’re looking to see how we can make ShareHim in the Oregon Conference a better and more effective experience.
